“Belugin’s Marriage” is a witty comedy written by A. N. Ostrovsky in collaboration with N. Y. Solovyov.
The plot centers around a merchant’s unexpected marriage alliance with an impoverished noblewoman, Elena Karmina, becoming a battleground between love and calculation. Each character enters the story with their own motives, confronting questions of trust, sincerity, and true intentions.

The play raises timeless questions: what matters more—feelings or pragmatism? Can love overcome greed and cold calculation to achieve true happiness?
