- ABOUT THE “SAVALAN” WINE MUSEUM
- The SAVALAN - ASPI Winery features a unique Wine Museum that revives ancient winemaking traditions and showcases historical artifacts.
- The museum's exhibition invites guests on an exciting journey through the history of winemaking, the peculiarities of the local terroir, and the secrets of wine production. It presents both ancient winemaking technologies and modern innovative approaches.
- Particular attention is given to unique artifacts discovered during archaeological excavations in Gabala region and its surroundings. These findings illustrate the development of winemaking and viticulture in the region from ancient times.
- Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the evolution of winemaking — from antiquity to the present day. The exhibition includes replicas of ancient vessels and artifacts found in Azerbaijan and in the territory of ancient Albania, as well as a collection of wine labels from the early 20th century. Special focus is placed on the wine production process, from grapevine cultivation to the creation of bottles, barrels, and corks.
- Interactive installations make the exhibition lively and engaging, while sound effects create an authentic atmosphere of Azerbaijan’s wine regions.
- Special highlight of the museum complex is the world's largest wooden wine barrel, listed in the Guinness World Records. The barrel has a capacity of 66,579 liters, a length of 4.9 meters, and a diameter of 4.75 meters. It is located in a specially designed wine cellar.
- The museum complex also features a tasting room where visitors can enjoy the exquisite flavors of SAVALAN wines.
- The SAVALAN Wine Museum is a unique place where history, culture, and the harmony of taste come together.
