A Special Premiere of “Search” — For the First Time on Stage!
Experience a truly unique event — the special premiere of “Search,” presented for the first time on the theatre stage. Join renowned figures from the world of art, public life, and government to witness an unforgettable performance in a festive atmosphere.
This play presents two great works in one performance. Based on “The Conference of the Birds” by Sufi philosopher Farid ud-Din Attar and “The Misunderstanding” by existentialist thinker Albert Camus, “Search” unfolds both stories in parallel before the audience.
“Search” is not just a play — it is the journey of those who seek truth and set foot on the path of spirituality.
It begins with all the birds of the world searching for their king — Simurgh, who lives beyond Mount Qaf. To find him, they must pass through seven difficult valleys. Many give up along the way. Those who turn back end up in the absurd world created by Camus — where a mother and daughter run a strange inn. In their quest for a "sunny place," they kill their guests, hoping to reach their dreamland. But the arrival of a new guest, Jean, changes the course of events. The mother tries to stop the killings, but Martha refuses to give up her desires or the search for meaning in life. These two seemingly unrelated stories gradually intertwine into a profound and powerful philosophical narrative.
The play is written and directed by Nihad Ghulamzadeh.
