“QAYA” STATE ENSEMBLE PRESENTS: JAZZ FANTASIES

Dear music lovers!

İn 2024, events of the Baku International Jazz Day will be held in april-may on the

initiative and project of the Baku Music Academy, ADA University and with the

organizational support of the Ministry for Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The cycle starts with a concert by the State Ensemble “Gaya”.

The first part of the concert will feature a fantasy based on the themes of the

famous Azerbaijani classic Uzeyir Hajibeyli's musical comedy “Arshin mal alan”.

The head of the project and the author of the arrangement of the choral scenes is

the creator of the modern ensemble “Gaya”, People's artist Rauf Babayev. The

arrangement of numbers for the orchestra is made by composer Nazim Ahmadov.

In the second part of the concert, you will listen to popular vocal and instrumental

standard themes of jazz music, performed by the ensemble. You will also get

acquainted with new compositions from the jazz repertoire of the State Ensemble

“Gaya".
